You've listened to COF before, Her Ghost in the Fog. Other songs I love you can listen to are Forgive Me Father (I Have Sinned) From the Cradle to Enslave The Foetus of a New Day Kicking Babylon AD (So Glad For the Madness) Mannequin Tearing the Veil From Grace
I'd recommend Queen of Winter, Throned and Bathory Aria. Two songs where imo Dani peaked. My guess Alex would shit his pants listening to those songs hehehe
The distortion Dani provides while "talking" is called vocal fry and is one of the best! Please, please, please do C.o.F's "Babylon A.D. (so glad for the madness). Don't make me beg anymore Alex, it's not becoming of a man my age!
@Goutham Doddi He actually sounds better now than he did in the past 15 years. Yes, his vocal technique wasn’t the safest in the early days, but people need to stop pretending like he can still only do the hoarse whispery stuff he did on Thornography. Hammer of the Witches and Cryptoriana are considered to be an amazing return to form harkening back to those early days.
A few more Cradle of Filth suggestions: Tonight in Flames Hallowed be thy name (Iron Maiden cover) Mr. Crowley (Ozzy Osbourne cover.. Very dark and creepy like this one.. Really good song.) A gothic romance Funeral in Carpathia (there's an instrumental version as well, which I suggest over the full song. It still has some lyrics though.) Medusa and Hemlock The fire still burns The forest whispers my name From the cradle to enslave Hell Awaits (Slayer cover) Her ghost in the fog (another really good one.) Temptation (another female guest singer.) Suicide and other comforts
It's about damn time dude. I've been requesting you listen to this one for ages now. This is easily in my top 10 favourite songs ever. It's so dark and haunting and beautiful, but still very powerful. I just love it.
My interpretation: "Nymph" actually refers to what Celts, Pagans, and Greeks referred to as the Fae, or "Fair Folk." Basically, a being diminutive in size -- and very beautiful to boot. Amphetamines are drugs that have a high addiction percentage, like crystal methamphetamine, or normal methamphetamine. In essence, I believe the song is about the addiction of trying to look beautiful, no matter what the cost, even to the point of death.
Huh interesting interpretation, the way I always thought of it was that he was super in love probably even obsessed with a Women to the point that being with her was like a drug and though it's a bit clingy he couldn't be anywhere without her. Hence the chorus lines like "in my heart that barless Prison" and "this lust, this Vampiric addiction, to her alone in full submission" But one thing that I also wondered as whether this led to him either dying, or trying to kill himself because you also have lines like the beginning where he says "Cold was my soul, untold was the pain I faced when you left me a Rose in the rain. So I swore to the *razor* that never enchained, would your dark nails of faith, be pushed through my veins again" as well as the first bit of his part of the chorus "*six feet deep* is the incision" as well as her saying "bared on your tomb" which to me implies that maybe he did die or try to? Guess we'll never know the true meaning unless Dani says what he wrote it about. So really any interpretation could be correct.
@@brothergrief9531 : The idea of a nymph was not just Greek -- in pagan and Celtic circles, they were called "fairies." But when you look at how both nymphs and fairies are described in lore, they are very similar to each other.
The title is a portmanteau of "nymphette" and "amphetamine" and Dani Filth explained it as referring to "a drug-like addiction to the woman in question, with her insidious vampire qualities literally bringing her lover back from the brink of the spiritual grave, only to bury him further on the strength of a whim. This is very Edgar Allan Poe in style, and leaves one thinking that, despite the character's inner agonies, he is really a welcome submissive who readily enjoys the terrible highs and lows of his relationship with this alluring and filthy succubus."
Alex's face when Liv starts singing: intrigue. When we first see her face: instant love. Once Dani starts: shock and confusion, but the weirdest boner.. This is the short version of the song. full album version is several minutes longer, however Swansong for a Raven is hands down my favorite track on that album.
Swansong for a Raven is arguably the best track on that album. That song's a tragedy wrapped in misery wrapped in a clusterfuck in the most beautiful way.
@@SJamesGill88 Doug Bradley's continued voice over contributions to Cradle's albums adds that final depth of despair that completes each song he works on. Whether you envision Pinhead delivering his "moral of your story" monologue from the Hellraiser movies, or just a random narrator, it's just that final touch that makes the song.
Just listen whole albums: "Dusk and her Embrace" and "Cruelty and the Beast." Or see some of their live shows from last years. Saw them last year licve in Pilsen, CZ and Dani's voice is incredible.
Agreed. He reacted to two of their most easy listening songs and imo two of their least interesting ones. He should go definitely for something out of Vempire, Dusk or Cruelty.
I don't think Vempire and The Principal of Evil Made Flesh get enough attention though. Dusk and Cruelty are great also, but that's when they first started to break through to the mainstream. It's almost like their older stuff is too obscure to matter, but they do.
Principle through Vempire is my favourite era, along with a lot of you guys. I listened to The Principle of Evil Made Flesh again recently which ignited a newfound appreciation for their old music. Dusk And Her Embrace is probably always going to be my favourite though. Hammer of the Witches and Cryptoriana are wonderfully returning to Cradle's roots too.
Yo Alex, if you really want to be blown away listen to the full version of this song. The contrast in the full version is absolutely amazing and adds a LOT of context.
I wrote lyrics of this on the back of my English mock GCSE's. The teacher circled it in red, then put a nice tick next to it. Glad they appreciated it the same way I did.
"We were needle and spoon, mislaid in the burning hay." "More sugar trails. More white lady laid.. than pillars of salt." My favorite lines from this song.
The woman's name is Liv Kristine. Danny Filth is an exceptionally skilled vocalist. His high screams are unique. Check out A Gothic Romance, with lyrics. You'll need them.
Bit of a dick IRL though, Early 2000's i was a roadie at one of the smaller rock venues here in the UK he did nothing but bitch and moan about how we were handling things and setting up, The show was good though. Lemmy (Phil and Mikkey aswell) were totally awesome and the nicest people i ever met at that job
Interestingly enough, I believe he'd really enjoy that one as well. Because of how similar it is to Nymphetamine Fix, in terms of the contrast between the clean and dark vocals.
Beautiful dark poetry and melodic mayhem.... Perfection incarnate Dani Filth is an amazing lyricist and vocalist. CoF will always be in my black lil heart \m/ 🖤💀🖤 \m/

OMG exactly!!! That's what I tell people when they want to learn black metal type vocals. Do the grudge sound and then push while trying to hold that. 😁
You should listen to Ayreon. All albums have a great story and the live shows are awesome. For a good start try: Ayreon - The Day That The World Breaks Down
No. Why would you tell him to start at the end? Even starting with Day 11 Love or Day 16 Loser would be better, even though that's still not early enough. I'd go with a lyrics video for something like My House on Mars, or Across the Rainbow Bridge, or First Man on Earth, or The Garden of Emotions.
Liv is ex vocalist since 2015 when she broke up with her ex-husband Alexander Skrull(Atrocity and Leave's eyes). She is the second vocal in the band Midnattsol since 2017.;)
I just discovered your channel and i keep thinking of a song to recommend but youve reacted to all of them so far lol love seeing people listening to my favorite stuff for the first time and appreciated the music and meanings ✊️👍
Alex: "I just spit everywhere!" Me: Yeah, Cradle will make you do that (especially if you ever try to impersonate Dani's vocals). You are right about "Gothic" only think more along the lines of the literary gothic romance genre and less in the Marilyn Manson/ Nine Inch Nails sense. They are a British extreme metal band (now categorized as extreme metal) and yes, each one of them is an incredibly talented musician. I have been following them since "Dusk and Her Embrace" circa 1996. The musicianship and songwriting are their biggest strengths and Dani writes most (if not all) lyrics for the band. Pulling from inspirations such as Nietzche, Freud, Lord Byron, and of course Shakespeare, Poe, and Lovecraft. Some of their albums follow historical figures through out history (such as "Cruelty and the Beast" for Elizabeth Bathory or Gilles de Rais with "Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder". While other's explore various mythologies and horror tropes like the supposed realm of the monsters known as "Midian". Sadly, Liv from Leaves Eyes was only doing a guest appearance but they used to have Sarah Jezebel Diva do backup vocals for them. Nowadays Lindsey Schoolcraft does them and she also plays keyboard for COF.
Alex, I think you should really check out Dead By April, they're a really good electronicore/metalcore band, from Sweden :D Also check out Rise Against if you're looking for something energetic and deep :D
Dead By April is a great metalcore band in my opinion. Why? Because in my opinion they are considered as the Backstreet Boys of metalcore I guess because of the clean vocalist.

I love this song! The looks on your face were priceless. Liv started and you were entranced. Then Danny started and you were intrigued. The both of them together is just beautiful.
You've listened to COF before, Her Ghost in the Fog.
Other songs I love you can listen to are
Forgive Me Father (I Have Sinned)
From the Cradle to Enslave
The Foetus of a New Day Kicking
Babylon AD (So Glad For the Madness)
Mannequin
Tearing the Veil From Grace
Tearing the veil from grace....one of my fav songs
I'd recommend Queen of Winter, Throned and Bathory Aria. Two songs where imo Dani peaked. My guess Alex would shit his pants listening to those songs hehehe
The distortion Dani provides while "talking" is called vocal fry and is one of the best!
Please, please, please do C.o.F's "Babylon A.D. (so glad for the madness). Don't make me beg anymore Alex, it's not becoming of a man my age!
That's a great song and a fuckn dope ass video too
His vocals sound great cause he ignored the safe technique. Look at his vocals now. He voice is completely damaged.
Yoo! Cradle of filth - the death of love!
Oh, no... that's not him screaming. Listen to some of their other stuff to hear him scream, lmao!
4:14 It's growling, dude.. N Dany Filth is a master at it...
A few more Cradle of Filth suggestions:
Tonight in Flames
Hallowed be thy name (Iron Maiden cover)
Mr. Crowley (Ozzy Osbourne cover.. Very dark and creepy like this one.. Really good song.)
A gothic romance
Funeral in Carpathia (there's an instrumental version as well, which I suggest over the full song. It still has some lyrics though.)
Medusa and Hemlock
The fire still burns
The forest whispers my name
From the cradle to enslave
Hell Awaits (Slayer cover)
Her ghost in the fog (another really good one.)
Temptation (another female guest singer.)
Suicide and other comforts
Thanks man!
Heartbreak and seance, you will know the lion by his claw, right wing of the garden tryptich, Babylon AD. Honestly I'd suggest every Cradle song.😂
I like English Fire
he already reacted to her ghost in the fog
Why are you suggesting mostly covers I'm sure he'd like to hear cofs actual songs lol great songs tho
It's about damn time dude. I've been requesting you listen to this one for ages now.
This is easily in my top 10 favourite songs ever. It's so dark and haunting and beautiful, but still very powerful. I just love it.
My interpretation:
"Nymph" actually refers to what Celts, Pagans, and Greeks referred to as the Fae, or "Fair Folk." Basically, a being diminutive in size -- and very beautiful to boot.
Hence the chorus lines like "in my heart that barless Prison" and "this lust, this Vampiric addiction, to her alone in full submission"
But one thing that I also wondered as whether this led to him either dying, or trying to kill himself because you also have lines like the beginning where he says "Cold was my soul, untold was the pain I faced when you left me a Rose in the rain.
I don't think nymphhas anythingto do with celtic mythology, it is Greek.
@@brothergrief9531 : The idea of a nymph was not just Greek -- in pagan and Celtic circles, they were called "fairies."
But when you look at how both nymphs and fairies are described in lore, they are very similar to each other.
Rather the addiction to beauty.
FROM THE CRADLE TO ENSLAVE! MY GOD!!
That would be a great sone, or A gothic romance
Lacuna Coil has a similar dynamic, definitely recommend them
Alex's face when Liv starts singing: intrigue.
Swansong is such a good song
That's exactly how I would describe his facial expressions :)
Midian is a masterpiece
I don't think Vempire and The Principal of Evil Made Flesh get enough attention though. Dusk and Cruelty are great also, but that's when they first started to break through to the mainstream. It's almost like their older stuff is too obscure to matter, but they do.
@@DeathBYDesign666 Vempire is their best imo.
After The Burial "Lost In The Static" or "Behold the Crown"
The 0nly Madman amazing band!!!
The 0nly Madman amazing band!!!
Yo Alex, if you really want to be blown away listen to the full version of this song. The contrast in the full version is absolutely amazing and adds a LOT of context.
She is Liv Kristine. Singer of Leaves' eyes. Check out their song "Norwegian Love Song"
Alex at 1:43 when he was introduced to Liv Kristine's voice.
Me too, man. Me too.
Oh, I do remember! You reacted to their song Her Ghost In The Fog, long ago.
Been waiting for this for like over a year XD, Never clicked something so fast.
I wrote lyrics of this on the back of my English mock GCSE's.
The teacher circled it in red, then put a nice tick next to it.
Glad they appreciated it the same way I did.
"We were needle and spoon, mislaid in the burning hay."
"More sugar trails. More white lady laid.. than pillars of salt."
My favorite lines from this song.
Alex Hefner : "releases a new reaction video"
Me : owh shit.. here we go again
Lol
Huhammas thariq: *uses dead meme* Me: awe shit... here we go again
@@Karen-vf8no nice try right there 🤣
Crown the empire - MZRY
Crystal lake - Apollo
Architects - Holy hell, Hereafter, Modern Misery
The woman's name is Liv Kristine.
Danny Filth is an exceptionally skilled vocalist. His high screams are unique.
Check out A Gothic Romance, with lyrics. You'll need them.
Bit of a dick IRL though, Early 2000's i was a roadie at one of the smaller rock venues here in the UK he did nothing but bitch and moan about how we were handling things and setting up, The show was good though. Lemmy (Phil and Mikkey aswell) were totally awesome and the nicest people i ever met at that job
Dani*
Hey reaction guy tuning more rap heads to black metal dani filth has a 5 octave vocal range that's why he's able to sound like that
A Hip-Hop Head, whose room is full of Metallica posters, ok.....
Kanye wore a chelsea grin tshirt. Lil wayne has worn shit like that. Some lower rappers ive seen.
😂😂😂
Hes been doing this long enough that he saw the appeal of metal. His main genre is still hip hop
if you wanna know,
alex will always hip-hop head x'D
... he's not screaming clown. *hip hop* yes has a Metallica poster....
This is called black metal and it gets more intense than that 🖤😂
Finally! Next Death of Love by Cradle of filth
I agree to this.
@@ferrybeurskens4664 yeah.Death of love is just a gift like this one. Dani Filth is a gift for us.
Interestingly enough, I believe he'd really enjoy that one as well. Because of how similar it is to Nymphetamine Fix, in terms of the contrast between the clean and dark vocals.
"the death of love" is another great song of them.
I love this song a shock to my self when I found out it was about Joan of arc
Es una pieza hermosa!!!
@@charlesbratti the entire album Godspeed on the Devils Thunder is about Gille de Rais, Joan's comrade during the 100 years war. :)
Now you're ready for 'From the Cradle to Enslave'
La voz de Liv es increíble en el metal, parece un Ángel calmando demonios
De las voces más angelicales
Beautiful dark poetry and melodic mayhem.... Perfection incarnate
Dani Filth is an amazing lyricist and vocalist.
CoF will always be in my black lil heart
\m/ 🖤💀🖤 \m/
This is Liv Kristine :) This was a guest singing part. Btw i was listening to this song i think in 2005 :D In my school time :D
You reacted to them a year ago with 'Her Ghost In The Fog'
Also a bit of trivia, the drummer that played on this album Adrian Erlandsson is the older brother of Arch Enemy's drummer Daniel Erlandsson.
Cradle of Filth - “Gilded Cunt” and “Nemesis”. Try those songs. Same album as this one.
from the cradle to enslave. both the song and uncensored video. the rest suxx
Gilded cunt is my favorite cof song lol nemesis is a close one too
English fire is an underrated track from this album too. Sounds like it could be a single
This song are one of the best of "Cradles", cos of "Theater of tragedy" vocalist . In 2008 I loved so much this album also.
yes, he sings the vocalist "dani filth" all that voices, is so cool! specially in that video in that song
Akemi Ogasawara Hanazono there is a female vocalist ...
Liv Kristine is the singer. She sang on Delain’s debut album “lucidity” another band you have to check out.
Isn't Liv also on Leave's Eyes?
She was the original singer of Theatre of Tragedy as well
Nhik Granger yes she is but I’m not feeling that band.
I saw her more in leaves eyes but ye she did some théâtre of tragedy with elis too with a looot of bands she has a special voice tone
@@isaiahaldhafera9752 Liv it's not in Leave's Eyes anymore, for about 2 or 3 years now... She sings solo know and have a lot of guests appearances, new solo album coming soon, from the last one check this song, album name is Vervain, guest male vocalist is Michelle Darkness from End of Green, you can check them also, they are cool ruclips.net/video/QdHG-gnVZPc/видео.html
No, it's considered growling. The part when he was "talking".
Temptation by Cradle of Filth =)
I came across them on RUclips and listen to them. I'm 55 years old a grandma and I actually f****** love them
Hi, Cradle fan here, It's refreshing to see non-metalheads take an interest in one of the best bands of all time. You are more open-minded than most people dude. I salute you, and welcome to the Cradle fan base.

Cradle of Filth’s cover of Hallow be thy name !
Yesssss
Wait...they did a Maiden cover!? When was this??
@@isaiahwelch8066 dude cmonnn u livin under a rock . hallow by thy name is awesome go check it out now
@@gamesandsoftwares1441 : I'm not livin' under a rock, 'cause I listen to some beautiful and epic metal, but duuude... Hallowed Be Thy Name is a classic Maiden song!
I just hope they did the song justice -- because I've heard some awesome covers, like Unleash the Archers (Queen of the Reich by Queensryche, and Northwest Passage), Sabaton (Kingdom Come by Manowar), Disturbed (Land of Confusion by Genesis and Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel), and Amaranthe (82nd All the Way, by Sabaton). Doing a cover is like...trying to update a classic car. Sometimes it succeeds (Mustang), sometimes it fails horribly (PT Cruiser, New Beetle, Chevy HHR).
@@isaiahwelch8066 waitttttt when sabaton did a cover on kingdom comee im gona check it out now. anws its an awesome song . they did it in their own style not the iron maiden way . iron maiden still got the crown for this in my opinion its hard to outperform a band like this . still. they did a great job covering this song in their own style
This song was on my MySpace page back in the day lol
The lyrics to this song are absolutely brilliant.
4:48 so catchy!!
His raspy talking is "vocal fry" its not a singing technique, its actually a definition in medical dictionaries, its basically what the grudge girl does lol its a good way to find your fry scream though
OMG exactly!!! That's what I tell people when they want to learn black metal type vocals. Do the grudge sound and then push while trying to hold that. 😁
You should listen to Ayreon. All albums have a great story and the live shows are awesome. For a good start try:
Ayreon - The Day That The World Breaks Down
Yes!!!!
The woman is Liv Kristine formely of "Theatre of Tragedy" and now from "Leaves's Eyes".
Sadly no longer with Leaves Eyes - they sacked her and have a new vocalist now.
Liv is ex vocalist since 2015 when she broke up with her ex-husband Alexander Skrull(Atrocity and Leave's eyes). She is the second vocal in the band Midnattsol since 2017.;)
Hands down my favorite band of all time. Should check out From the Cradle to the Grave. It was thier first video.
I just discovered your channel and i keep thinking of a song to recommend but youve reacted to all of them so far lol love seeing people listening to my favorite stuff for the first time and appreciated the music and meanings ✊️👍
Alex: "I just spit everywhere!"
Me: Yeah, Cradle will make you do that (especially if you ever try to impersonate Dani's vocals).
Well said \m/
Jim Mulvaney they're Black Metal, not Death Metal.
@@DeadWirePromotions Technically, they are extreme metal now.
Their genre is subject to much debate. The band themselves just say they are some kind of metal, but don't really care about genre.
I WILL LISTEN FROM THE GATES TO ENSLAVE;) UNTIL I REVISIT THE CRADLE.
Alex, I think you should really check out Dead By April, they're a really good electronicore/metalcore band, from Sweden :D
Also check out Rise Against if you're looking for something energetic and deep :D
Can confirm this.
Though, lets add Any Given Day to the "have-to-check-out" list :D
Love that bands!
@@KS7. I have a huuuuge list of bands ready for Alex, but as things are, I don't think they'll bring in the views Alex wants/needs
Dead By April is a great metalcore band in my opinion. Why?
Because in my opinion they are considered as the Backstreet Boys of metalcore I guess because of the clean vocalist.
@@markdemars7044 You referring to Zandro or Jimmie Strimmel ?
Next one theatre of tragedy venus, You will not regret :)
I absolutely love that part when Liv sings and ends it with that "key" echo...

Me encanta este tema de Cradle of Filth 💣💥🔥 . Esta banda era Increible .
Fun fact, the drummer recorded the whole album and realized he had a cracked crash...recorded the whole album over again. ;)
